What physical process creates additional spatial separation when the universe expands?

General relativity describes expansion. Dark energy names the acceleration. We ask whether the underlying operation can be understood, and one day reproduced, as a physical process.

What funding will support

Initial funding establishes a small interdisciplinary effort across theoretical physics, computational science, mathematics, and experimental collaboration.

A deliberate near-term goal

Develop a mathematically consistent computational model that connects an underlying information-processing operation to an emergent spacetime geometry and produces testable physical predictions.

Only after that, and after identifying an experimental system that can test at least one distinctive prediction, would the project advance toward synthetic spacetime experiments.
